In FIPS Cambridge Primary is an education programme for young learners that combines a world-class curriculum, high-quality support for teachers and integrated assessment
Cambridge Primary combines a world-class curriculum with high-quality support for teachers and integrated assessment. The curriculum is dedicated to helping develop learners who are
confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. FIPS’Cambridge Primary has curriculum frameworks for English (including English as a Second Language), Mathematics and Science whichhave been designed to engage learners in an active and creative learning journey.
FIPS offers an optional testing structure to assess learner performance and report progress for both learners and parents. These assessments provide an international benchmark that enables teachers to identify learner strengths and weaknesses within individuals and class groups and develop further teaching and learning support using the information from the test results.
At the end of Cambridge Primary, FIPS offers Cambridge Primary Checkpoint in grade 6, a diagnostic test which offers comprehensive feedback at the end of the Cambridge Primary stage.

FIPS follows the Cambridge Primary curriculum framework for each subject – English/ English as a second language, mathematics and science .
Cambridge Primary English in FIPS enables learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop the critical skills to respond to a range of information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment. Learners who follow this curriculum framework will develop a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any culture and to promote cross-cultural understanding.
This curriculum develops learners’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English. It has been developed in conjunction with Cambridge English .Students with little or no English language are supported through a combination of in-class and pull-out sessions. The program is a comprehensive one used in well-established international schools. The development of language is monitored constantly and the learning of English is within the context of the curriculum and functional use.
The mathematics curriculum framework explores five content areas: number, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving. This curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject.
FIPS curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning, investigating, recording and analyzing data. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.
Cambridge Secondary 1 builds on the foundations of Cambridge Primary. It enhances skills and understanding in English, Mathematics, and Science and provides excellent preparation for Cambridge
Secondary 2 for qualification in Cambridge IGCSE. At the end of
Cambridge Secondary1 Grade 9, has Cambridge Checkpoints Tests
FIPS enables learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop the skills to respond to a range of information, media and texts with understanding and enjoyment. Learners in FIPS who follow this framework will develop a first language competency in English based on a curriculum designed to be successful in any culture and to promote cross-cultural understanding.
This curriculum framework develops learners’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English. The curriculum in FIPS has been developed in conjunction with Cambridge English Language Assessment and is based on the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), used across the world to map learners’ progress in English.
The curriculum framework explores six content areas: number, algebra, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving. The first five content areas are all underpinned by problem solving, which provides a structure for the application of mathematical skills. Mental strategies are also an important part of the number content. The curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships, so that learners apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject.
This curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning investigative work, and recording and analysing data. The scientific enquiry objectives underpin biology, chemistry and physics, which are focused on developing confidence and interest in scientific knowledge. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.

In order to identify learner’s strengths and weaknesses in key curriculum areas, FIPS makes it compulsory for students to attempt the Check Point Tests offered in English, Mathematics and Science at the end of Grade 6. This diagnostic test provides a clear feedback and is a benchmark for students appearing for the IGCSE.
